It’s a common misconception that Custer Ambulance Service is part of the fire department, but we are an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency medical care throughout our community and surrounding areas. Custer Ambulance Service covers 860 square miles in the Custer region, much of that rural, where we may be the only source of emergency medical care. For many residents here, there is no backup or second option, just us.

With increased service demand, adding another ambulance to our fleet is vital to keep pace with growth. Your support helps ensure that when someone calls for help, Custer Ambulance Service has an ambulance ready to answer.
Equipment & Technology Fund
This fund helps Custer Ambulance Service purchase, replace, and upgrade the tools our providers rely on every day. From cardiac monitors and defibrillators to stretchers, ventilators, communication systems, training technology, and other essential medical equipment, these resources directly affect the care we are able to provide.
Forever Fund
Through careful stewardship and long-term investment, the Forever Fund provides a dependable source of support for future needs. This helps reduce uncertainty, strengthen financial resilience, and ensure that services can continue adapting as our community, call volume, technology, and cost of care change. Legacy gifts, memorial gifts, estate gifts, and other long-term contributions can help ensure our services remain strong far into the future.
General Fund
The General Fund provides flexible support for the areas of greatest need within Custer Ambulance Service. Because emergencies and operational needs cannot always be predicted, unrestricted funding gives the service the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, unexpected expenses, and emerging community needs.
